The family business
North Bay Grading and Paving is owner-run by Zack Peterson in Santa Rosa. We grade and pave with one crew, which means the base is built right before the asphalt goes down. That is the difference between pavement that lasts and pavement that cracks early on our clay soil.
Family-operated in Santa Rosa since 2014, licensed, bonded and insured

Our Mission
Do it once, do it well. We grade and pave with a single crew, so the ground is right before the asphalt goes down, building driveways, parking lots and private roads across Sonoma County that last for decades, not seasons.
Our Vision
To stay the family name Sonoma and Marin County trust for paving and grading, work built to last a lifetime so you never have to think about it again. Family-operated since 2014, third generation in the trade.
What we do across Sonoma County
Asphalt paving, grading, concrete, sealcoating and striping across Sonoma County and the North Bay.
Asphalt Paving
Driveways, parking lots, and private roads. 2.5-inch asphalt holds about 85,000 lbs of pressure; 3-inch holds 120,000 to 130,000.
Grading
Driveways, roadsides, base rock, and surface leveling. Compaction to 95 percent is standard on our jobs.
Sealcoating
Water-based protective coating that fills cracks and pores, keeps the oils in and water out. Best applied late summer through fall, before the rain.
Free estimates and scheduling
Estimates are free, even if it costs us a tank of gas to drive out and measure. Most jobs price on square footage, we measure, walk you through the depth and prep we recommend, and give you a number. Our busiest stretch runs late July through November, so book early for fall work.

A great property starts from the ground up.
Pavement is the first impression.
Every job we lay down has to outlast 25 years. That’s what we install, not just what we quote.

Brand-new automated paver, auto feed, auto augers. The same machine we run on federal Coast Guard contracts.

You get what we quote
If the estimate says two and a half inches of asphalt, you get two and a half inches after compaction. We do not cut corners on depth, base prep, or material.
Job sites stay clean
If your driveway was clean when we arrived, it is clean when we leave. We blow down loading areas and sweep debris off the street.
Crew standards
Nobody works shirtless, drinks on the job, or shows up on drugs. If a crew member needs the bathroom, they take the vehicle to the gas station.
Available when you need us
Call or text any time. Weekends and evenings are fine.
